This exposed loop takes hikers along the edge of the Virgin River and ascends a rockfall that dammed the river 8,000 years ago. Named for the sandy terrain, this trail is approximately four miles long from the Court of the Patriarchs (Shuttle Stop 4) or a little over five miles from the Zion Lodge (Shuttle Stop 5).
