Camping Reservations

All camping options in Zion National Park require reservations, and they go quickly. Make sure to grab your spot on recreation.gov well in advance so you can lodge among the legendary landscapes.

There are three campgrounds within Zion National Park:

Watchman Campground – Offering stunning views of the Main Canyon, this campground is very popular, so reservations are typically required six months in advance. Tent and electric campsites are available year-round, and group campsites are available from March through November.

South Campground – Located near the Zion Canyon Visitor Center and first shuttle stop, this campground is as convenient as it is beautiful. It is open from early March to the end of October, and you must reserve a spot two weeks in advance in order to camp. NOTE: There is a construction project in progress, which will significantly reduce campsite availability until completion. The Watchman Campground is a strongly recommended alternative.

Lava Point Campground – About an hour away from the Main Canyon Entrance, past the city of Virgin, this campground is located off Kolob Terrace Road. Lava Point is typically open May through September, depending on the weather. Amenities are extremely limited, and there are only six sites available for reservation

For up-to-date information on conditions and availability at any of these campgrounds, please check the current conditions.

If campgrounds are full or you’re looking to stay outside of the park, Greater Zion abounds with camping, glamping or more standard hotel options.
