Situated within the intersection of the Colorado Plateau, Great Basin, and Mojave Desert, plant and animal life in Zion National Park is expansive and diverse. Zion National Park is home to a large amount of plants and wildlife with over 78 species of mammals, 291 species of birds, 37 species of reptiles and amphibians, 8 species of fish, and more than 1,000 species of plants.
